Enphase Microinverters Ranked #1 in the U.S.

Microinverters convert the DC energy generated by solar panels into AC energy, which runs through most homes. Enphase is the market-leading manufacturer of microinverters. More than 20 million microinverters have been produced, and there are currently 820,000 installations on the market. Enphase is a pioneer in this technology and is leading the way in string inverter systems.

Other companies use string inverters instead of microinverters.

String inverters are cheaper to install, but produce less power and have less redundancy than microinverter systems. If a system using a central string inverter fails, solar power generation stops completely. In a microinverter system, each solar module is paired with a microinverter, allowing for optimal solar power generation even if a component fails.
Microinverters also enable maximum power generation from each module. By using Enphase microinverters, each solar panel can operate independently, while a central inverter system would limit power generation to the weakest module.
